Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (28 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. The problems of publishing dance periodicals are discussed by Karl Reuling, managing editor of the defunct Ballet News, William Como, editor-in-chief of Dance Magazine, and critic Marcia Siegel. Among the difficulties they identify are targeting an audience, building up readership, and attracting advertisers. They debate the viability of educational or specialized articles, and question the degree of interest in dance outside New York City. Siegel relates her experiences as a writer and as editor of Dance Scope; Como recounts his experiences at Dance Magazine, which was founded by Rudolf Orthwine as a "hobby." In Esoterica balletica, Frances Becker offers some pointers for audience members.
