Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (28 min.) : sd., col.; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Amy Greenfield, a dancer/choreographer who has worked extensively with film, video, and holography, and Peter Reed, director/choreographer of the Contemporary Ballet Company, talk about their work with cinedance and videodance. After defining what videodance involves, they discuss their collaboration with video artists, the problem of obtaining funding for their projects, and the differences in choreographing and performing for the stage and the camera. Reed, who has created music videos, tells how he broke into the field and shows excerpts from two of his works, Searching and Abandoned. Greenfield's work is represented by excerpts from 4 solos for 4 women and Transport. In Esoterica balletica, Gwen Krause reviews the Poor dancer's almanac, a handbook for dancers living in New York, published by Dance Theater Workshop.
