Martha Bowers, a founder of Dancers for Disarmament, and Myrna Renaud, who leads the Barrunto Dancers, a multi-ethnic dance group, talk about their belief that dance can be used to make political statements, and the need to broaden the scope of the dance community. They discuss their recent choreographic projects and the activities of their respective organizations. Bowers is seen in a recorded excerpt of her Type dance, with text by Jan Kirschner. In Esoterica balletica, William Starrett tells an anecdote about his guest appearance with JoAnn McCarthy in the Dublin City Ballet's production of The nutcracker.
