Dance on television: Choreographers and the new technology [videorecording]
Eye on dance ; 80
Dancer/choreographer Dianne McIntyre and computer animator Rebecca Allen talk about their interest in videodance and describe their work on recent pieces. An excerpt from McIntyre's videodance Etude in free, produced in collaboration with Celia Ipiotis and Jeff Bush of ARC Videodance, opens the program. Allen shows an excerpt from Dancing images, produced with Ann Marion, in which dancers from Joffrey Ballet assisted in creating gesture-generated computer images, and an excerpt from Steps, a computer graphics work. In Esoterica balletica, Dianne McIntyre discusses Eubie Blake's musical Chocolate dandies.
