Summary

1. Choreographer Mary Anthony and Bettie De Jong, formerly a dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, recall working with television in the early days of the medium. Anthony, who entered the field in 1957, worked for the series Lamp unto my feet and for Italian television; she compares the technological improvements she found in 1977 on the series Look up and live. De Jong describes the process of working on the film 9 variations on a dance theme with filmmaker Hilary Harris. She also recalls Paul Taylor's preference for the theater rather than television, and the experience of performing Esplanade with his company for Dance in America. In Esoterica balletica, Birgit Cullberg looks back upon her television work, which began in the 1970s, in collaboration with director Måns Reuterswärd.
