Summary
Shareen Blair Brysac, a former dancer with José Limón, Merce Cunningham, and Paul Taylor, talks about her current work as a producer for CBS News specials. She notes some of the factors that distinguish network documentaries from public television, and discusses some of her past and present projects, including The red, white and blue shoes, a documentary on Nancy Raffa, the American winner of the Prix de Lausanne in 1980. A color excerpt from this documentary, telecast on CBS News Magazine on April 30, 1980, includes performance footage of competitors Deborah Bull, Alessandra Ferri, Gen Horiuchi, and Raffa, the last in the solo Spring waters, choreographed by Gabriela Taub-Darvash.
