Description
  1. 1 videocassette (U-matic, NTSC) (29 min.) : sd., col. with b&w sequences; 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. Carla Maxwell, artistic director of the Limón Dance Company, and dancers Nina Watt and Carlos Orta discuss various aspects of performing José Limón's choreography: its organic quality, the eloquence of every part of the body, the importance of the design element, and the fostering of each dancer's individuality. Limón's preferred themes for dancing are also discussed, with special attention given to Missa brevis. The program is illustrated with numerous still photographs of Limón and his company, and with performance excerpts from The moor's pavane (b&w; danced by Limón, Lucas Hoving, Betty Jones, and Pauline Koner) and Missa brevis (color recording, danced by Maxwell, Orta, Watt, and others; b&w recording, 1958, danced by Limón and others).
