SUMMARY: Videotaped in the studio on April 11, 1981 by Ed Emshwiller. Class in Weidman technique taught by Nona Schurman. Schurman recalls classes of the 1930s, and reminisces about Charles Weidman throughout the class. She teaches her own warm-up and some floor exercises devised by Weidman, followed by floor progressions, emphasizing that choreographic changes can be made in a class without departing from Weidman's technical principles. At the end of the class, the Deborah Carr Theatre Dance Ensemble performs a Humphrey-Weidman-Schurman demonstration. Occasional gaps in recording. The class begins on cassette 33A (approx. 18 min.) and continues on cassette 33 (approx. 60 min.).
