Summary
  1. Made-for-television drama in two parts, celebrating the great ballerinas of the 19th and early 20th centuries, as remembered by two pivotal historical figures: the poet and critic Théophile Gautier, and the impresario Serge Diaghilev, both played by Peter Ustinov. Carla Fracci plays all of the leading ballerinas, each of whom is featured in a significant ballet from her repertory. She is supported by an international cast of male ballet stars.
