Interviews with Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn (as portrayed by the actors June MacLaren Reed and Paul Reed, respectively) are interspersed with reconstructions and vintage footage of dances choreographed and performed by Shawn and St. Denis. Footage of the company on tour in the Orient, of the Denishawn school, as well as still photos of the couple are also seen.
