Summary
Ballet film in the form of a play within a play. Isa (Ludmila Tcherina) is the star of a gypsy dance troupe that performs a ballet-drama, The lovers of Teruel, based on a Spanish legend of the unhappy Duchess Isabelle of Teruel and her lover Don Diego. The tragedy of the couple is paralleled in the real life of Isa and her lover Diego.
