Summary
Dancers Frank and John Delmar, Foster Fitz-Simons, Fred Hearn, Wilbur McCormack, Frank Overlees, Barton Mumaw, and composer Jess Meeker recall their years with Ted Shawn at Jacob's Pillow and on tour in the 1930's with the men's group. Rare archival footage restored to natural speed of excerpts from some of the dances in which they performed are shown: Polonaise, Labor symphony, The dome, The banner bearer from O, Libertad!, Cosmic dance of Siva, Bourrée. Barton Mumaw is shown in rehearsal recreating his solo Fetish for Richard Cragun, who subsequently performs it on stage at Jacob's Pillow. Members of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens are shown performing portions of Polonaise.
