Summary
Shows deaf youngsters, eight to eleven years old, who are enrolled in an experimental "Ballet for the deaf" program at Robert Joffrey's American Ballet Center. Teacher Meredith Baylis conducts classical ballet classes the goal of which are to integrate the students into regular dance classes for the hearing; Starr Danias and Richard Schafer perform an excerpt from Gerald Arpino's L'air d'esprit; Mr. Arpino is shown rehearsing two deaf children in a piece choreographed for them; and Miss Sills discusses problems of deaf children with a group of parents.
