Summary
  1. Documentary about Jacques D'Amboise and his work with his National Dance Institute. He is seen auditioning and rehearsing school children, policemen, and others for the Institute's 1982 Event of the year, held on May 23 and 24 in the Felt Forum, Madison Square Garden, New York. The program concludes with excerpts of the performance, which was hosted by Judy Collins, highlighting the number Fat city (music, Lee Norris), performed by Kevin Kline (narrator), the Institute's SWAT Team, New York City Dancing Policemen, Janet Eilber (Miss Kitty), Christopher d'Amboise (Legs Diamond), and child dancer Laurent Castellucci (Mr. Fats). This film won the 1983 Academy Award for the best documentary.
