- Summary
- A performance of classical Indian dance and music, presented in conjunction with an exhibit of Indian textiles at the Museum of Modern Art. The noted Indian dancer Shanta Rao performs two dances in Bharata Natyam style: Alarippu, a ritual invocation, and Padam Chaliyani, a story-telling chant and dance. Then follows a performance on the sarod by Ali Akhbar Khan with tabla-player Mr. Chatturlal.
