Summary

Based on the play by Sem Benelli "The Love of Three Kings", the ballet tells of a blind father who strangles his son's wife when she refuses to name her lover. Hoping to trap the lover, he places poison on the dead woman's lips, resulting not only in the death of the lover but of his son as well. Cast includes Ted Shawn (the King), Myra Kinch (Fiora, the Wife), Herbert Kummel (Manfredo, the Son), Gunnar Spencer (Avito, the Lover), and Jeanne Parsons, Shirley Jensen, and Sally Holroyd (Eyes of Darkness).
