Summary
Billie Mahoney talks with guest Brenda Bufalino about her career in tap and jazz dance. Bufalino, now on the dance faculty of the State University of New York, New Paltz, discusses her childhood and show business family; problems of being a white woman performing with black artists in the 1950's and harassment from outside the performing world (Bufalino and Mahoney share experiences); the white woman as tap dance artist in a field often regarded as belonging to men or to blacks; her career as a teacher. In last two minutes of program Bufalino performs a soft shoe section of her 40-minute unaccompanied work, Tapestry.
