- Explores various ideas and concepts of what art is. Many kinds of art are discussed including mime, sculpture, architecture, everyday objects, ballet, street theater, music. Artists featured (in order of appearance) include mime Tony Montanaro, dancers Edward Villella, Patricia McBride, and Helgi Tomasson, choreographer Jerome Robbins, the Paper Bag Players, and conductor Leonard Bernstein. Villella and McBride appear onstage in an excerpts from Balanchine's Tchaikovsky Pas de deux.
