Summary
Documentary on the Varna competition, focusing on gold medal winner Fernando Bujones, who is seen performing the male variations from La fille mal gardée, the Black swan pas de deux, La sylphide, The corsair pas de deux, and the Don Quixote pas de deux. Performances by other competitors include: Tat'︠i︡ana Kapustina in a variation from Laurencia; Yoko Morishita and Tetsutaro Shimizu in The corsair pas de deux; Mikhail ︠T︡Sivin in the warrior's solo from Spartacus and the male variation from The corsair pas de deux; Gabor Kevehazi in Philip's variation from the Flames of Paris; and Tatyana Ershova in an unidentified variation (probably "Double"). Rehearsal footage includes Sandra Fortune and Sylvester Campbell in Ebony concerto (choreography: Doris Jones), and former winner Eva Evdokimova with Hans Meister in the second act of Giselle. The program concludes with footage of the awards ceremony.
