Note

1. Wooded landscape by a moonlit lake. Three winged dancers stand on the shore; one stands poised on the stern of a fanciful boat.
2. This is one of a substantial number of prints usually classified as "Fancy," which depict exotic or fantastic scenes peopled by the fairies, sprites and sylphides typical of the romantic ballet. In all probability these lithographs were inspired by a theatrical production.
