Note
  • The interviews were originally recorded by Radio France [Office de radiodiffusion-télévision française] and used [in excerpted form?] as background for a television documentary on Diaghilev by Frederick J. Maroth. Neither the date of the original Radio France recording nor this recording (which was made from the Radio France recording) is known.
  • In French.
  • Summary: Ossip Zadkine, Serge Lifar, Georges Auric ,Jean Cocteau, and Artur Rubenstein reminisce about their association with Diaghilev and Les Ballets Russes.
  • Sound quality is good overall. There are sections that are marred by "tape hiss" as well as occasional gaps and distortion. However, except for the section containing the interview with Artur Rubenstein (approximately the last four minutes of disc 2) the speakers' voices are almost always clear.
