Note
  1. Interview with Dennis Wayne conducted by John Gruen on November 9, 1972 in New York City. This interview was used as a basis for a chapter in John Gruen's book, The private world of ballet (New York, Viking Press). The voices of two women, one of whom is later identified as "Bonnie" [Bonnie Mathis] can be heard speaking nearby during a substantial part of the interview; at approximately 37 minutes into disc 2, Mathis is asked by Gruen to participate in the conversation between him and Wayne, which she does, briefly.
  2. For transcript, see: *MGZMT 3-203.
  3. Sound quality is good with respect to John Gruen's and Dennis Wayne's voices. However, Bonnie Mathis, who participates briefly in the conversation between Gruen and Wayne towards the end of the recording, speaks softly and is difficult to understand. In addition, there are frequent extraneous noises (including the sound of the nearby but mainly unintelligible conversation between Mathis and an unidentified female), especially on disc 2, and occasional short gaps.
