Summary
[Begins abruptly.] Janet Collins discusses the art of performing; preparing a performance; differences between the techniques of ballet and of modern dance; working with Zachary Solov on a role; characteristics of different audiences; her philosophy of performing; the problems of being both performer and choreographer. She performs phrases from her dance, Spirituals, explaining the movement, and the ideas and feelings upon which the dance is based.
