  • "The musical score to this play (first produced at the New Theatre, London, in February 1939) was reorganized for a BBC radio presentation in December 1954/January 1955. The overall pagination of this manuscript, which is much marked and contains music by other composers besides Benjamin Britten (notably arrangements of Brahms, Handel, Mozart and Schubert made by Ernest Irving) reflects that BBC version. The original version of The Spider and the Fly (pages numbered 215-229) is placed between pages 50 and 51, preceding the rescored BBC version."--Special note, frame 306.
  • Also includes a published piano piece, Valse bleue / by Alfred Margis (Act III, no. 12).
