Collection consists of letters written by Harris, typescripts of his works, photographs, and ephemera. Letters, 1907-1930, written from New York, London, Paris, and Nice to his friends and associates, concern literary and editorial matters. Some letters are about his attempts to have an expurgated edition of his autobiography published in America. Typescripts include stories, a novel and autobiographical writings (some with manuscript corrections). Photographs are of Frank and Nellie Harris.
Frank Harris (1855-1931) was an Irish-born American novelist, biographer, editor, and playwright. He is best known for his controversial autobiography, My Life and Loves. He edited several literary journals including Vanity Fair and Pearson's Magazine.
