Summary
The Brotherhhod of Sleeping Car Porters Fort Worth Division regional conference of 1952 begins with President Thomas urging workers to attend meetings and to support the Brotherhoods' cause. He also compliments the Ladies Auxiliary on their loyalty and support. A. Philip Randolph speaks on the proposals the Brotherhood has submitted to the Pullman Company and how they responded with counter proposals. He continues by talking about basic changes taking place in the American economy with regard to the development of automation and the ending of the Korean War. Randolph explains why the porters' pension is so low, the process and steps involved in fighting for the acceptance of their proposals, the importance of the union shop, tax, and Ladies Auxiliary. Brother Thomas responds to Randolph's speech and urges all to support the Ladies Auxiliary and to vote on November 4.
