Biography
  1. Three Lenox brothers, David, James and Robert, of Kirkcudbright, Scotland, immigrated to the U.S. and became successful businessmen. David Lenox (ca. 1753-1828) settled in Philadelphia and became a banker. James Lenox (1753-1839) was a New York City merchant who eventually returned to Scotland. Robert Lenox (1759-1839), a wealthy New York City merchant, was a philanthropist who was active in the First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York.
