Biography
  1. Mary Garrett Hay (1857-1928) was an American suffragist and civic leader who was active in the New York suffrage movement. She helped Carrie Chapman Catt set up the offices of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in New York in 1895. Hay was president of the New York State Federation of Women's Clubs from 1910 to 1912, chair of the League of Women Voters in New York City from 1918 to 1923, and served the Republican Party in various official capacities.
