Legal and political correspondence, 1903-1948, includes letters concerning Carstarphen's various positions. Theater correspondence, 1930-1951, contains letters about plays that he and his wife, Anita Carstarphen, adapted from novels. Family correspondence, 1897-1932, consists primarily of letters of Carstarphen to his family with some letters written by other family members. Also, photographs, biographical sketches, personal papers, and newsclippings.
