Views from the Hayden surveys in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming in 1870, 1871: buffalo bones on the prairie in Colorado, fence and building in the background; eroded rocks in Monument Park; Odgen Canyon; men on rocky shore of the Snake River near Taylor's Bridge; pot holes in the basaltic rock, Snake River; Wild Cat Canyon; hydraulic gold mining, Virginia City; bridge over the Madison River; distant view of Mystic Lake, Montana, near Ft. Ellis; river in "Devil's Passway, Montana; two views of Nez Perce Indians in Montana, showing people in front of teepees, including a woman with something (roots?) laid out to dry on cloth or skin; Gilbert's Peak in the Uinta Mountains, with man and lake in foreground; men examining beaver dam on Henry's fork.
