Views of homes in New York City including 5th Ave. mansions of A. T. Stewart and the Vanderbilts, a backyard of a rowhouse with its occupants, country houses, including one overlooking the Hudson or other river and one with woman in front, African American man holding horse's reins, African American child in the foreground; also including interior views: an elaborate conservatory with sculpture and fountain, views of halls, bedrooms, parlors; Edgar Allan Poe's house in Poe Park. Some views duplicated.
