Summary
Views of Indians in Nebraska, and whites in relation to Indians: group of two men and 3 boys, one smoking a pipe at the Spotted Tail Agency; Roman Nose, Sioux chief in "command of hostile Indians at battle of [Seven Buttes?]; Grand Duke Alexis hunting in Nebraska(?): view of the start of the hunt including the Grand Duke, Gen. Sheriden, Gen. Custer, Gen. Forsyth, Gen. Ord, Buffalo Bill and the Russian officers, some mounted with tents beyond; the Grand duke, admiral and Russian officers with Spotted Tail and eight chiefs; "Spotted Tails headquarters," showing teepee, wagon and his wife and daughter, portrait of Buffalo Bill; group portrait of missionaries at the "Mission of the American Board of the Santee Agency, Neb." with notes on back of view indentifying some of these pictured, including "Grandfather and Grandmother Riggs" (probably S.R. Riggs who was a missionary in Neb.); Sioux Indians in traditional dress, mounted on horses, teepees beyond; views of a Dog Feast in a Crow(?) camp, possibly in Nebraska: gift horses being presented, bales of gift quilts, Dog Feast, Dog Feast dance, Shoots the Lodge on horseback, a little girl, a medicine man, Chester Bad Boy, "Smokey" on horseback, Crow girls; views include tents wagons and bluffs in the background; view of a Pawnee village.
