Views of waterways in and around New Orleans: sail and steamboats in Bayou St. John; trees hung with spanish moss and a boat with an awning over deck at Bayou Lacombe; a lumber schooner on the New Canal; cypresses on Lake Ponchartrain, man on shore of lake; schooners in the "Old Basin"; African American workers, barrels, carts, steamboats and sailboats at the sugar levee; New Orleans & Mobile R.R. station, steamboats at the levee beyond; view of the "Belle Lee" from another steamboat; general view of levees; views of sailing vessels from another ship; cotton traffic including men with a cotton float, African American men moving bales on the dock, mules with carts of cotton, the Red River levee with cotton bales, unloading cotton from the "Sir Henry Frank" and the "S.H.Parisot," men moving cotton to a railroad freight depot; two African American men sitting on barrels on the levee; steamboat landing from Bienville St. looking up the levee, from Gravier St. looking down the levee; the Canal St. Ferry boat "Louise"; the ferry landing; Mississippi River ship traffic from the bridge; view of the deck and a lifeboat on the steamer "Hudson"; passenger terminal of the Louisville and Nashville R.R. with levees beyond; men resting on sacks that are being loaded on a sternwheeler; view of the leveel from the Opelousas R.R. ferry; Port Eads and South Pass levees; showing "mattrass ways," lighthouses and hotel; view of piles for jetty taken from the pile driver.
