Views of central and western Iowa: Council Bluffs: offices of the daily and weekly "Nonpareil," homes on Council Bluffs drive, Union Pacific railroad bridge to Omaha; Cardiff Glen near Ft. Dodge where the block of gypsum that was carved into "the Cardiff Giant" came from; a home in Malcolm; Newton: home and city square with snow, large school building; views of the Iowa River near Iowa Falls, including a bridge; street scenes in Northwood, many people and buggies and wagons; Sioux City: general views showing homes, buildings, the river, and steamboats; street scenes including one of a business street buried in snow; the school house with advertisements painted on the fence; the first Corn Palace; log cabin where the Gardner family became victims in the Spirit Lake Massacre in 1857, stone cairn marking their grave at Lake Okoboji; Hotel Orleans, Lake Park House; Baxter House; passengers leaving the "Hiawatha"; beach at Miller's bay; rowboats pulled up on the beach, horses in the water; a man in a buggy, all at Spirit Lake.
