Views of the Smithsonian Institution: includes the "castle" and the National Museum (Arts & Industries) building; early views of the "castle" show it surrounded with a picket fence, winter views with snow; many views showing lawns, trees, drives, some with men including one with a black man; some showing carriages in drive; view of men stanidng at the edge of flood waters, Feb. 12, 1881, on Smithsonian grounds; view of a sculpture of a woman and a (goat?); interior views include galleries and displays, including samurai armor, dinosaurs, a teepee, a diorama of Kiowa children at play, a gallery with cases; a view with a case of stuffed birds and animals; a view with African animals and a whale.
