Local Note
The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's copy is probably one of the items added to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the collection librarian; and Lawrence Reddick was the Curator. It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection" and ink stamps; one partially illegible from a former owner: "*Dr. John S. B[]," and one from "Department of Negro Literature and History." No NYPL's perforated stamp but has early processing marking of the original collection. It may have been treated and rebound in navy blue cloth over boards library binding with additional blank pages at the back; and a gilt spine title.
