  1. Paul Leicester Ford (1865-1902) was a historian, novelist and playwright. The son of Gordon Lester Ford and Emily Ellsworth Ford, he was educated privately with access to his father's vast library of Americana. He edited, wrote or published many scholarly and bibliographical works including editions of the writings of John Dickinson and Thomas Jefferson, bibliographies of Alexander Hamilton and Jefferson, and biographies of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. His novels, especially The Honorable Peter Stirling, were successful, and one of the several plays he wrote was produced. Ford also was associated with R.R. Bowker in editing Library Journal.

  1. Paul Leicester Ford (1865-1902) was a historian, novelist and playwright.
