  • Two prints (colored state on Japon Imperial of frontispiece and t.p.) on one folded sheet.
  • "With 7 plates by Maurice Denis each occuring in five states: proofs before lettering on Manufactures d'Arche[s] and on Japon Imperial, two versions in black on Manufactures d'Arche[s] with variant text readings, and the final state hand-coloured (pochoir) also on Manufactures d'Arche[s]. The title-page also occurs in five states, with hand-coloured examples on both Manufactures d'Arches and Japon Imperial. The frontispiece and 'planche supplementaire specialment pour Les XX,' as they are essentially printed without text, occur in only four states"--Schiller. The Arches paper is specially watermarked with the device of the Société des XX.
