Summary
Views of social worker, civic leader and former executive director of the National Urban League Lester B. Granger. Includes studio and candid portraits of Granger alone and Granger in group portraits. Group portraits were taken at a variety of social and political events and show Granger shaking hands, receiving awards (or with others receiving awards) and inspecting African American troops in the U.S. Navy. Most individuals are unidentified, those identified include Mrs. Granger, Louise Parker, Mollie Moon, M. Stewart Thompson, Malcolm Ross, Charles Zimmerman, George Meany, Frederick Richmond, Lee H. Bristol, Theodore Kheel, Robert Sarmoff, Sam Feldman, Sam Eisenberg, Marda Springer, Vijaya Pandit and Dr. J. Ernest Wilkins, Half, three-quarter and full-length views are included.
