Summary

1. Portraits and views of singer Billie Holiday dated approximately between 1936 and 1957. Collection consists of studio head shots and quarter-length studio portraits (promotional stills); a view of Holiday singing during a recording session; views of Holiday performing in concert; in a movie still, with Louis Armstrong, from the film "New Orleans" (1947); and in group portraits with an unidentified woman, and with Count Basie and Billy Eckstine. Also in the collection is a reproduction of the cover of John Chilton's book, "Billie's Blues," which has a portrait of Holiday. Quarter, half and full-length views are included.
