Summary
Views of educator, humanitarian and civic leader Mary McLeod Bethune dating approximately from the late 1930s to the mid 1950s. Photographs include half-length studio portraits of Bethune. Also included are photos taken at various conferences, tours of WAC facilities, Franklin D. Roosevelt's inauguration, at the United Nations, and at various presentation ceremonies. These group portraits include views of Harry Truman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Richard V. Moore, Vijaya Pandit, Winthrop Rockefeller, Jeanette Welch Brown, Ralph Bunche and W.E.B. Du Bois. Also included are photographs of paintings and an illustration of Bethune, as well as a Bethune Memorial Sculpture.
