Summary
Views of musician Louis Armstrong, dating between 1923 and 1971. Views include: promotional stills (taken with and without his orchestra), as well as television, stage and film appearances and books published about him; a variety of portraits of Armstrong with, among others, Billie Holiday, Maxine Sullivan, Dean Martin, Earl Hines, and other unidentified people; portraits of Armstrong alone, with and without his trumpet, including some where he is arriving and/or departing airplane; scenes taken at the Armstrong funeral, including the open casket. Also included are two portraits of Lil Hardin Armstrong (one with a short biography attached) a photo of a group of Little Leaguers honoring Armstrong and a picture of the Louis Armstrong Medal issued by the American Negro Commemorative Society.
