First, Orde Coombs and Chester Higgins discuss their book, Some Time Ago: A Historical Portrait of Black Americans from 1850-1950, which provides a pictorial history of black America through the photographs of black photographers. Second, Roscoe C. Brown, Orde Coombs and Ronald T. Gualt discuss the present economic and employment picture for black Americans. Third, poet and novelist June Jordan and playwright Ed Bullins discuss what it means to be a black artist and their responsibility to the black community.
