- Summary
- Traces the history of the civil rights movement from 1960-1964, focusing on the student movements. Covers the lunch counter sit-ins, SNCC operations, the Mississippi voter registration drive, student activity with CORE, the integration of the University of Mississippi, the bombing of the church in Birmingham and the murder of Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman. Those interviewed include Julian Bond, Stokely Carmichael, James Farmer, Harry Belafonte and Sydney Poitier. Also includes scenes of Malcolm X and his response to the movement during the period.
