Summary
Discusses the possible reasons behind the black participation in Jim Jone's Peoples Temple. Interviews are with the Oliver family, who describe the loss of their two boys in Jonestown; two black clergymen, who comment on the impact on the black church; Dr. Raye Richardson, who lost her sister; and Dr. Floyd Wylie, a psychologist who talks about the stress caused by the loss of family members. The final third of the program offers a look at a Les Blank, Chris Strachwitz documentary entitled Chulas Fronteras, which studies the folk music of migrant Chicano farmworkers.
