Summary
U.S. ambassador-delegate Andrew Young tells Jim Lehrer that he believes his position in the Carter administration will allow him to assist in determining policy in the United States' foreign affairs. Jesse Jackson, William Cotter and Leslie Harriman, Nigerian ambassador to the U.N., discuss the meaning of Young's appointment in terms of its impact on foreign policy, particularly in Africa. Jackson expresses his disappointment that Carter did not select a significant number of Blacks for key administration posts.
