  • Vol. 2 has title: The first three books of Caxton's Aesop, containing the fables illustrated in the Verona Aesopus of MCCCCLXXIX.
  • Vol. 1 comprises the Latin metrical version by the Anonymus Neveleti (i. e. Walter of England?) with Italian translation and additions by Accio Zucco (both versions rev. by G. B. Pighi) and an epilogue by G. Mardersteig. Vol. 2 comprises an adaptation by T. and H. Schmoller of Caxton's translation (1484) of J. Macho's French version of the Latin prose version of Romulus, and 7 fables not in Caxton translated by B. Radice.
  • Vol. 1 issued also in an Italian edition.
  • Illustrations (in vol. 1): 66 full-page woodcuts by Anna Bramanti, hand-colored by Atelier Daniel Jacomet, Paris, being copies of those in the British Library copy of the 1479 ed. (designs and coloring attributed by Mardersteig to Liberale da Verona).
