Get Homework Help at NYPL After School
NYPL After School is a free drop-in program for kids aged 6–12 that takes place after regular school hours on Mondays through Thursdays. Join us at one of our 20 participating branches across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island for homework help from one of our tutors or Teen Reading Ambassadors, reading recommendations, fun writing, STEAM, and enrichment activities—and even snacks! One-on-One Tutoring
Get free one-on-one homework help from online tutors daily, 2–11 PM. Available in English and Español (Spanish), from early elementary through high school grades, in core subject areas. Video content and other resources are also available 24 hours a day.

Visit the Children’s Center at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL)
From storytime to homework help, the Children’s Center features an array of programs and services to help kids and their families develop a lifelong love of reading and learning, including early literacy programs, programs for school-aged children, performances and special events, homework resources, class and group visits, and a youth study room.
Learning Aids for Pre-K to 2nd Grade

E-Books and Core Subject Resources
This resource pairs fictional video story books with nonfiction e-books. It plays the narration while highlighting the words of the story across the screen. Topics include: Animals and Nature, People and Places, ABCs and 123s, Music and Rhyme, and more. (Grades Pre-K–3)
TumbleBooks Library
Includes animated talking picture books, story books, and books in other languages, puzzles, and games. (Grades Pre-K–6)
Scholastic Teachables
Sign in with your library card to explore this database for mini-books and printable activity sheets. Topics include: Language Arts, Math, Science, Foreign Language, Writing, and more. (Grades Pre-K–6)

Explora Elementary
This is an easy to use database for students to search by keyword or by topic to find articles from encyclopedias, magazines, news sources, and biographies. Includes features to listen along to the text and search by lexile level. (Grades K–5)
Kids InfoBits
Child-friendly database which searches across reference books, news and magazine articles, biographies, and pictures. Includes features to listen along to text and lexile level of text. (Grades K–5)
Britannica Academic
Offers Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, world atlas and country comparison, news and magazine articles, primary sources, images and video. Select School Edition for all grades (Pre-K–12) and all reading abilities. Select articles by reading level and listen along to the text. You can use Escolar Online for accurate and age-appropriate content in Spanish for native Spanish speakers, bilingual students, and students learning Spanish.
World Book Online Reference Center
Select Kids link (with balloon icon) to explore different topics, with pictures, articles, games, science projects, maps, and more. Includes features to listen along to the text. (Grades K–6)
