Children's Books: 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing

NYPL News!

"The Starry River of the Sky" by Grace Lin is ideal for reading aloud with the whole family.

Last year, children's literature lost some giants in Maurice Sendak, Jean Craighead George, Leo Dillon, and many others. What better way to celebrate those writers's unique gifts than to celebrate the latest creations being offered to children? Children's Books 2012: 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing features more than 20 debut writers or illustrators, making it clear that today's children have been left in very capable hands. Our librarians invite you to peruse the 100 titles — there's something for everyone, whether you love to feel a chill run down your spine, or enjoy mind-boggling twists and turns, or just want something to tickle your funny bone.
