NYC Business Solutions is a suite of services offered by the New York City Department of Small Business Services. We can help your business start, operate, and expand in New York City. The Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation is a 501(c)(3) corporation that provides professional business advisory services through a collaboration with the New York state Economic Development Corporation. Established in 2013, the Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation Small Business Development Center is able to assist business clients with access to capital to: start-up a business; business acquisitions; 504 real estate loans; franchises; purchase inventory, machinery, equipment, furniture or fixtures; construction loans; and refinancing existing debt. We also provide business management consulting services for existing and start-up businesses for: business acquisitions and sales: financial analysis; loan packaging; and business planning.

SoBRO is contracted by the Mayor's Office to oversee and assist industrial/manufacturing businesses with any issue on an as needed basis free of charge. In partnership with NYC Business Solutions Center, NYC Department of Small Business Services SOBRO provides in the following areas- obtainable incentives, real estate opportunities, expansion planning and recruitment. Wholesalers, distributors, warehouses, manufacturers, construction  (electrician, restoration, etc), transportation and technology businesses are eligible for the IBZ Program.

The South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBRO) is contracted by the NYC Department of Small Business Services to provide FREE services to Manufacturing, Construction, Transportation, Wholesale, Utility or Film Production businesses in The Bronx:

  • Financing assistance
  • Recruiting and training employees
  • Incentives: connecting companies to tax credits and other incentives 
  • Navigating through government agencies
  • Workshops and seminars
  • Legal Assistance
  • Real Estate Assistance
  • Selling to Government
  • Advocacy with NYC on small business issues

LIC Partnership operates the LIC Industrial Business Zone (LIC IBZ). The Long Island City Industrial Business Zone (IBZ) is one of the 21 IBZs throughout the city. It is made up of 5 sub-areas that serve as suitable areas for a wide range of manufacturing and industrial companies. The LIC IBZ is home to many businesses that support the basic function of NYC and employ a diverse workforce. The IBZ covers areas in zip codes 11101, 11102,11103, 11104, 11106, 11109 and 11120.

The South Jamaica Empire Zone offers a wide array of incentives including tax credits and utility discounts. SBIDC manages the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Business Zone (IBZ) where they have supported local manufacturing and industrial businesses for over 40 years. St. Nicks Alliance's Workforce Development Center has helped thousands of North Brooklyn residents land and keep high-paying jobs in high-demand industries. We partner with major North Brooklyn employers. Each client is assigned to a job coach who guides them through assessment and training and helps them overcome any barriers to getting and keeping a job.

Our goal is to train and place all our clients into high-quality, full-time, permanent jobs that pay a living wage.

WHEDco is a community development organization based in the South Bronx. WHEDco helps individuals launch and operate small businesses through Home-Based Childcare programs and Commercial Revitalization Initiative, with training resources and programs that support economic stability.

WHEDco helps women build and grow successful home-based childcare businesses throughout the city, while improving the quality of childcare available to New Yorkers. WHEDco's Home-based Child Care Training Institue offers all childcare providers -whether they're licensed, registered, or legally exempt- comprehensive professional development training and licensing assistance so they can improve the quality of care they provide, increase their revenues, and grow their existing businesses.

Commercial Revitalization: WHEDco works to support small businesses along commercial corridors in the South Bronx. These businesses provide economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs and enable residents to shop their own neighborhoods. WHEDco services include connecting small business owners and entrepereneurs to no-cost and low-cost services to help their businesses thrive and attracting new businesses to vacant storefronts.

Affiliated with the New York City Department of Labor, Workforce1 Career Centers are a one-stop shop for employers and jobseekers. Services to businesses may include human resources consulting, job-candidate screening and customized training for employees. For jobseekers services include resume and interview preparation, job-search coaching and access to educational and training opportunities.
